Our Story

House of Salt began with a simple discovery: salts from different coasts do not taste the same.
We tasted salt crystals and grains gathered from different oceans and noticed how much character each one carried. Some were bright and immediate. Others were mineral, rounded, briny, crisp, or quietly complex. The water mattered. So did the wind, the weather, the salt pan, the season, and the patience of the people harvesting it.
Among them, fleur de sel stood apart. These are not mechanically produced crystals. They appear naturally, briefly, and only when conditions allow. They are gathered by hand from the surface of the brine with extraordinary care.
That led us to create House of Salt: a collection of the world’s most distinctive hand-harvested fleur de sel. We think of it as a salt terroir collection. Just as a wine can carry the character of its place, each salt carries something of its own sea and shoreline.
From the Caribbean to the Pacific, the Mediterranean, the Atlantic, and the Ionian Sea, every product remains true to its local origin and its own story. House of Salt brings these remarkable coastlines together so they can be tasted, compared, and enjoyed at the table.
